Nursing Excellence

What is Nursing Excellence?
The Magnet Recognition Program™ was developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association (ANA), to recognize nursing excellence and clinical quality patient outcomes.

The ANCC granted Deaconess Hospital, Inc. status as a Magnet-recognized organization initially designated in 2013 and re-designated in 2018. With this designation, Deaconess Cross Pointe, Deaconess Midtown Hospital and Deaconess Gateway Hospital met or exceeded the Magnet Recognition Program™ standards demonstrating transformational leadership at all levels of nursing, structured empowerment supported by a mature nursing shared governance structure, exemplary clinical practice delivering on best practice outcomes, and nursing research and evidence-based practice contributing to new knowledge and innovation.

These three facilities, as part of Deaconess Hospital, Inc., demonstrated the ability to meet or exceed these requirements as part of the Magnet™ application and appraisal process. Deaconess Hospital, Inc. is Nursing Excellence!
