Nursing Benefits
In addition to the Deaconess Health System comprehensive benefits package, nursing staff at Deaconess enjoy:
Nursing Shared Governance
Nursing Shared Governance (NSG) promotes nursing practice autonomy and aligns the clinical nurse at the bedside with evidence-based practices to enhance clinical outcomes. NSG promotes clinical decision-making through interdisciplinary collaboration throughout the professional practice environment.
Educational Assistance
Deaconess supports tuition reimbursement for advancement of education as well as reimbursement for specialty certifications. Continuing education opportunities, inclusive of independent study courses, are also provided.

Nurse Recognition
Includes the Daisy Award where nurses are recognized by patients and families for clinical practice and compassionate care. The annual Nurse of the Year awards also recognize nurses through nominations by their peers.
Shift Incentives for Off-shifts and Weekends
Deaconess provides competitive evening, night and weekend premiums to reward staff and assist in the provision of appropriate staffing coverage.
Flexible Scheduling
Deaconess provides a variety of shifts to help support an appropriate work-life balance. Part time and supplemental (PRN) shifts are available in several areas.
