Infectious Diseases

An infection happens when germs enter a person’s body through air, water, soil, or food and then multiply. Familiar types of germs are viruses and bacteria. Common infections from these germs include influenza and the common cold (viruses) as well as pneumonia or ear infection (bacteria). An infection can be mild and treated at home, or it can be life threatening and require a hospital stay.

The infectious disease experts at Deaconess specialize in diagnosing and treating infections in any part of the body. They have extensive training in identifying the source of an infection and work with you and your doctor to find the most effective way to treat it.

Our providers see patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
