Services Offered
Brain
- Coiling of brain aneurysm: guiding a catheter from the groin to the aneurysm in the brain. Thin metal wires are coiled into a ball inside the aneurysm. Blood clots form around the coil to prevent the aneurysm from bursting or bleeding.
- Craniotomy: surgical procedure in which a piece of the skull is removed so the surgeon may access the brain
- Craniotomy for AV Malformation correction
- Craniotomy for brain tumor removal
- Craniotomy for clipping of brain aneurysm: a metal clip is placed at the base of the aneurysm to block blood flow
- Craniotomy to release pooled blood and relieve pressure around the brain
- Decompression of Chiari malformation (brain tissue extended into the spinal canal)
- Placement of VP shunt to drain fluid within the brain (hydrocephalus)
- Retrieval of clots in blood vessels: A clot removal system gently removes the clot and restores blood flow to the brain.
- Stereotactic brain biopsy: Minimally invasive procedure using 3-D imaging technology, as well as data from CT and MRI scans, to examine a tumor or piece of the brain.
Spine
- Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion: a surgical procedure using an anterior approach to correct an unstable spine by removing a disc rupture and utilizing a bone graft or implant to fuse one vertebra to another.
- Kyphoplasty: A minor surgical procedure to stabilize a vertebrae fracture in the back.
- Laminectomy (lumbar decompression): a surgical procedure to reduce pain caused by pinched nerves (spinal stenosis). A small portion of bone or disc material is removed to make more room for the nerve root.
- Microscopic lumbar discectomy: Use of a microscope to improve surgical lighting and vision, making removal of the herniated lumbar disc more precise and accurate.
- Spinal cord tumor removal
- Spinal fusion: A procedure using a bone graft to connect healthy bone above and below the damaged area with a goal of fusing the areas together and relieving joint pain.
