The new Deaconess Orthopedic and Neuroscience Hospital, located on the Deaconess Gateway Campus, will host a ribbon cutting celebration at noon on Friday, May 4.
The event marks the completion of the final portion of a $135 million expansion of the Gateway campus that began in January 2016. The Orthopedic and Neuroscience Hospital is a six-story, 215,000 square foot specialty hospital that will provide a spectrum of care for orthopedic and neuroscience patients.
“This hospital is a continuing example of our commitment to local, exceptional care,” said Shawn McCoy, CEO of Deaconess Health System. “We want current and future Deaconess patients to be able to receive the highest quality of care possible, right here, close to home.”
Deaconess services will include inpatient and same day surgeries and procedures, medical retail space, and an Ortho Neuro Specialty Clinic for acute and ongoing treatment of complex orthopedic and neurological conditions. Immediate Ortho Care by Orthopaedic Associates, staffed by orthopedic physicians, will provide walk-in orthopedic treatment, up to and including same-day surgery. Later in May, Panera Bread will also open a new restaurant on the first floor.
