    COPD Clinical Research Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic lung disease that makes it hard to breathe. COPD includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Symptoms of COPD may include a cough that won’t go away, often coughing up mucus, and frequent shortness of breath.

    Deaconess Clinic physicians are participating in a national clinical research study of an investigational medication for people with COPD. Qualified participants receive study-related physician visits and study medication at no cost. You may also receive compensation for your time.
