General Deaconess Cross Pointe (DCP) Inpatient Information

    • DCP is a locked acute care facility
    • Inpatient stays are typically short term, usually less than one week.
    • Treatment plans include but not limited to medication management and group therapy.
    • DCP is a non-smoking facility. Patients are not allowed to leave the unit for smoking breaks. If needed, patients may discuss smoking cessation options with their physician.
    • Once admitted, we have a legal obligation to provide a certain level of care. If you or a guardian requests discharge, medical staff have 24 hours to assess the patient’s stability. Indiana law requires a plan for alternative treatment, and staff must determine the patient is not at imminent risk of harm to self or others.
    • Patients receive hospital supplied clothing (scrubs) upon arrival.
    • Chaplains may visit at any time with patient approval.
    • As a courtesy, we will contact your insurance company to verify your benefits and coverage for behavioral health services. For questions about your insurance during your stay, please contact our Finance Counselor at 812-471-4628.
