Nutritional Lessons
For both the surgical and non-surgical programs you are required to complete 4 required classes and two electives:
- Surgical: Change Your Eating Styles OR Manage Food Cues, Learn to Read a Food Label, Power of Protein, Vitamins and Minerals, and two electives
- Non-surgical (HELP): Change Your Eating Styles, Manage Food Cues, Learn to Read a Food Label, Power of Protein, and two electives
- Elective classes include: Eating Out, Carbohydrates and Weight Loss, Meal Planning, Eating Healthy on the Run, Modifying Recipes, Whole Grains
Carbohydrates & Weight Loss
Attached are 4 handouts that correspond with the 4 eating styles you will be assessing when you complete the “Eating Style Self Assessment.” Once you have identified the eating style(s) recommended for change, please refer to the handout that corresponds to the eating style you wish to improve upon. Each handout provides tips for improving your current eating style based on the “Eating Style Self-Assessment” that you will complete as part of the nutrition activity.
