    Hemorrhagic Stroke

When a blood vessel in the brain leaks or bursts (such as during a brain aneurysm rupture)

    Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA)

When a blood vessel is blocked for a short time (also called a “mini-stroke”)

The following conditions increase your risk of having a stroke

    • Smoking
    • High cholesterol levels (are we able to hyperlink the highlighted conditions to other sites so that if they want to know more information they can access it??)
    • High blood pressure (also known as hypertension)

Stroke survivors are at greater risk of having another stroke. Subsequent strokes can be more deadly and debilitating than the initial attack.
