Auxiliary Program - Deaconess Memorial Medical Center
Deaconess Memorial Medical Center's Auxiliary consists of nearly 400 men and women who serve as champions for people in our community to receive compassionate care close to home. The Auxiliary's purpose is to raise funds that support hospital efforts for the benefit of our patients and their families. The Auxiliary does this by operating the hospital's 800 Gift shop and through fundraising efforts including an annual quilt raffle.
The 800 Gift Shop is primarily staffed by volunteers. Volunteers choose their shifts and typically work 2-4 hours at a time. Volunteers are trained and supervised by the Gift Shop Coordinator, empowered to work independently, and entrusted with daily operations. Volunteers are students, retirees, and everyone in between. The Gift Shop is always looking for new volunteers to serve and support the Auxiliary's mission.
Proceeds from the 800 Gift Shop are reinvested back into the hospital. These dollars funnel through the Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary and are combined with Auxiliary membership dues and fundraising proceeds. Each year the Auxiliary reallocates this money to departments and service lines at Deaconess Memorial Medical Center. To date, the Auxiliary has awarded nearly 2 million dollars to over 50 departments hospital-wide including clinics within our service area. In addition, the Auxiliary paid for a permanent dedication outside the main entrance in memory of the late Sister M. Adrian Davis, LCM and every year offers a scholarship to eligible student volunteers.
The Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary is a dedicated group of individuals who care about the health of the people in the communities we serve. Anyone who wishes to join the Auxiliary is welcome and may do so at any time.
