Deaconess Illinois Scholarship
Deaconess Illinois will be awarding various scholarships to in-district college students accepted into the qualifying associate degree programs at a local college in Southern Illinois. Please complete the application to be considered.

Scholarships are available for Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging, Respiratory, and Surgical Technician Students.
What are the scholarship benefits?
- Deaconess Illinois will pay up to $4,000 per semester for two (2) semesters per year for qualifying students to attend a local college in Southern Illinois to achieve an Associate Degree or similar course completion for the programs mentioned above, coming to a total of up to $8,000 per year!
What are the requirements of the scholarship program?
- Qualifying students must attend a local college in Southern Illinois to achieve an Associate Degree or similar course completion for the programs mentioned above must be in good standing (with a C or better) to receive each semester scholarship.
- Passing the NCLEX and obtaining Illinois State Licensure as a Professional Registered Nurse is required after the completion of the associate degree for nursing programs at a local college.
- All scholarships require a two-year commitment to work at Deaconess Illinois (Crossroads, Medical Center or Union County IL Hospitals) in a position associated with the scholarship. If Deaconess Illinois does not have any hospital positions open at time of graduation, the Senior Leadership Review Team can approve the two-year commitment to be allowed in one of our Rural Health Clinics or other hospital locations within the system. Scholarship awardees will be given preference to the nurse extern and ancillary student positions in their second year of coursework.
