Curricular Tracks
Hospital Medicine Track
Additional Requirements:
  1. Complete and maintain ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications
  2. Attend at least once Hospitalist CME during residency
  3. Critical Appraisal and Presentation of at least one journal club article related to Hospital Medicine (at journal club)
  4. Present a Hospitalist Medicine related topic as a noon conference
  5. Completion of a scholarly project relevant to Hospitalist Medicine (including, but not limited to: original research, clinical or educational quality improvement project, case podium presentation, poster presentation, written case report, review article) and presentation of the project within the residency or a separate acceptable local, regional or national forum.

Sports Medicine Track
Additional Requirements:
  1. Must attend at least one national sports medicine conference (AMSSM, ACSM or Advanced Team Physician Course during residency)
  2. Establish at least one year continuity experience with a local or regional sports team or school
  3. Present a Sports Medicine related topic as a noon conference
  4. Completion of a scholarly project relevant to Sports Medicine (including, but not limited to: original research, clinical or educational quality improvement project, case podium presentation, poster presentation, written case report, review article) and presentation of the project within the residency or a separate acceptable local, regional or national forum.
  5. Participation in pre-participation sports physicals as call schedule allows
  6. Clinical Appraisal and Presentation of a journal club article related to sports medicine (at journal club)

Emergency Medicine/Urgent Care Track
Additional Requirements:
  1. Complete and maintain ACLS, BLS, NRP, ALSO certifications during residency
  2. Must complete ATLS for CME during their residency
  3. Critical Appraisal and Presentation of at least one journal club article related to Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care Medicine (at journal club)
  4. Present an Emergency Medicine or Urgent Cared Medicine related topic as a noon conference
  5. Completion of a scholarly project relevant to Emergency or Urgent Care Medicine (including, but not limited to: original research, clinical or educational quality improvement project, case podium presentation, poster presentation, written case report, review article) and presentation of the project within the residency or a separate acceptable local, regional or national forum.

Obstetrical Track
Additional requirements:
  1. 80 vaginal deliveries
  2. 20 C-sections (at least serving as the first assist)
  3. 5 Vacuum Deliveries
  4. Assist or perform 5 BTL
  5. Complete and maintain ALSO and NRP certifications
  6. Must attend the AAFP Maternity Care Conference at least once during residency
  7. Develop proficiency in episiotomy and perineal laceration repair
  8. Critical Appraisal and Presentation of at least one journal club article related to Maternity Care (at journal club)
  9. Present a Maternity Care related topic as a noon conference
  10. Completion of a scholarly project relevant to Obstetrics/Maternity Care (including, but not limited to: original research, clinical or educational quality improvement project, case podium presentation, poster presentation, written case report, review article) and presentation of the project within the residency or a separate acceptable local, regional or national forum.

If a curricular track is selected, the curriculum will have certain required blocks reducing the total number of elective blocks.  The required blocks are unique to each curricular track.
