Deaconess Nurse Residency Program Achieves Prestigious Accreditation
Registered Nurse Residency Program has been accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s
(ANCC) Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition. This prestigious recognition makes us only
the third health system/hospital in both Indiana and Kentucky to receive this honor.

Technology at Deaconess Hospital. “This achievement underscores our commitment to providing topnotch education and support for our nurse graduates, ensuring they are well-prepared to deliver
exceptional patient care from day one.”
The ANCC accreditation is a testament to the rigorous standards and high-quality training provided by the
Deaconess Nurse Residency Program. It validates that our training and support meet the high standards
set by the ANCC, which benefits both our patients and our nursing staff.
All new nurse graduates at Midtown, Gateway and Henderson hospitals go through the Nurse Residency
program, which provides support and empowers new nurses as they begin their career. It allows nursing
graduates to build their confidence, share personal experiences and better understand the evidence-based
approach in the clinical setting.
Each nurse resident is provided a mentor for support and guidance aiding in their professional transition
into nursing practice as well as monthly support group sessions to discuss nursing experiences and
network with fellow nurse residents in their specialty.
The ANCC certification of this residency validates that patients are receiving care from nurses who are
exceptionally trained and committed to providing top-notch, compassionate care.
