Deaconess Henderson Hospital Advisory Board Awards More Than $80,000 to Local Organizations

Deaconess Leadership presents check to Community of Henderson

HENDERSON, KY – The Deaconess Henderson Hospital Advisory Board awarded more than $80,000 in community grants today through the Deaconess Henderson Hospital (DHH) Community Program Fund, supporting local organizations dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Henderson County residents.

The DHH Community Program Fund was established following the merger of Methodist Hospital and Deaconess Health System. As part of that merger, funds were designated each year to support programs that promote the health and well-being of the citizens of Henderson County.

This year's grants were awarded to organizations addressing the priority areas identified in the most recent Henderson County Community Health Needs Assessment: mental health, substance abuse, obesity and diabetes and health equity and access. The funded programs help improve quality of life for Henderson County families by promoting wellness, increasing access to health services and screenings, and supporting illness prevention.

The following organizations received 2026 Community Program Fund grants:

    • Chemo Buddies – $1,800
    • Henderson County Family YMCA – $3,500
    • Infinite Hope, Inc. – $4,500
    • Marsha's Place – $5,000
    • Boys & Girls Club of Henderson – $5,000
    • Henderson County Diabetes Coalition – $6,000
    • Center for Addiction Recovery of Henderson – $10,000
    • The Port Youth Center – $15,000
    • Daniel Pitino Shelter – $15,000
    • Henderson Christian Community Outreach – $15,000

Since its creation, the Deaconess Henderson Hospital Community Program Fund has helped strengthen local organizations working to meet the evolving health needs of Henderson County residents through collaborative, community-based initiatives.

“We want this community to understand that Deaconess Henderson Hospital is an asset to this community and by providing funds to other not-for-profits, it means the world,” said Linda White, Chief Administrative Officer at Deaconess Henderson Hospital. “In honoring the not-for-profits, we’re talking about helping improve mental health, decrease substance abuse, decrease obesity and diabetes and improve access to healthcare, that’s what we’re about.”
