This free community event will take place on October 5, 2024, from 10 AM to noon at Wesselman Woods. The Breast Friends Survivor Walk is not just a walk—it's a powerful demonstration of support for breast cancer survivors, their families and the entire community.

    Participants will enjoy:
    • A non-competitive walk through scenic Wesselman Woods
    • Educational vendors providing resources on survivorship, detection, and breast health
    • Kid-friendly activities
    • The "MEGA Breasts" inflatable display, offering an interactive learning experience about breast cancer's impact
    • A special memorial to honor those lost to breast cancer
"This event embodies our commitment to supporting breast cancer survivors and raising awareness," said Lisa Hirsch, director of Deaconess Oncology Center of Excellence. "We invite everyone — survivors, families, friends and supporters — to join us in this celebration of life and hope. We want to raise awareness, support survivors and contribute to the ongoing fight against breast cancer."

Event registration is free and open to all. Participants can purchase a Breast Friends T-shirt for $20, with proceeds benefiting the Deaconess Foundation's breast cancer support initiatives. To guarantee a T-shirt, registration must be completed by September 20.
