Deaconess' Porter appointed Chair-Elect of AHA Committee on Clinical Leadership
Deaconess Health System is proud to announce that James Porter, MD, FACHE, President of Deaconess’ Physicians Division, has been appointed Chair-Elect of the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Committee on Clinical Leadership for a three-year term beginning January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2028. The leadership cycle includes one year as Chair-Elect, followed by one year as Chair, and concluding with one year as Past Chair.

The Committee on Clinical Leadership advises the AHA on advocacy positions, public policy issues and strategic priorities related to clinical leadership. The committee's guidance ensures the AHA's Board integrates expert clinical perspectives into national healthcare policy and strategic decision-making.
