    Deaconess Illinois Announces Formation of New Foundation

    SOUTHERN, Ill. – Deaconess Illinois announces the formation of the Deaconess Illinois Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to advancing health care and improving the lives of patients, families and communities throughout Southern Illinois.

    The Deaconess Illinois Foundation, a department of Deaconess Illinois, will lead the organization's fundraising efforts by connecting individuals, businesses and community organizations with opportunities to support our hospitals, patients and community health initiatives.

    Funds raised through the Deaconess Illinois Foundation will remain in Southern Illinois and benefit Deaconess Illinois Crossroads in Mt. Vernon, Deaconess Illinois Medical Center in Marion and Deaconess Illinois Union County in Anna.

    “The Deaconess Illinois Foundation creates a meaningful new way for our communities to invest directly in local health care,” said William Davis, Deaconess Illinois Region President. “Every gift made through the Foundation will stay here in Southern Illinois, supporting patients, caregivers, programs and technology. This is about neighbors helping neighbors and building a stronger, healthier future for the communities we are honored to serve.”

    Charitable contributions may support medical equipment and technology, patient assistance, employee education, community health initiatives, facility improvements and other priorities that enhance care. Donors may designate their gifts to a specific Deaconess Illinois hospital or the area of greatest need.

    The Deaconess Illinois Foundation will be guided by a volunteer board of community leaders. Founding board members include:

    The board will help guide the Foundation’s priorities, promote community engagement and oversee the responsible stewardship of charitable contributions.
