Deaconess Health System Named One of Forbes' America's Best-in-State Employers for the 7th Year in a Row

Evansville, Ind. – Deaconess Health System has once again been recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best-In-State Employers for 2026, earning a place on the prestigious list compiled in partnership with Statista, a leading global provider of market and consumer data. The honor highlights Deaconess Health System’s ongoing commitment to fostering a workplace culture where employees feel supported, valued and empowered to make a difference.
The annual ranking, presented by Forbes and Statista, is based on an independent survey of more than 160,000 employees across the United States working for organizations with at least 500 employees. More than two million employer evaluations were collected, with rankings determined through direct employee feedback and recommendations from industry peers, including friends and family members of employees.
“This recognition reflects the strength of our culture and the people who make Deaconess exceptional every day,” said Deaconess Health System CEO Shawn McCoy. “We are proud to be acknowledged as one of Indiana’s best employers, but what makes this honor especially meaningful is that it comes from employee feedback. Our team members are the foundation of our success, and we remain committed to creating an environment where they can thrive both personally and professionally.”
As healthcare continues to evolve, Deaconess Health System remains focused on investing in its workforce through professional development opportunities, competitive benefits, employee well-being initiatives and a culture centered on collaboration, compassion and excellence.
