Beware of “MyChart Medicare Kit” Text Messages and Emails

Deaconess Health System and Partners are aware of fraudulent text messages and emails claiming that recipients have a “MyChart Medicare Kit” or “Senior Health Package” waiting for them. These messages are not from Deaconess and are part of a phishing scam designed to steal personal information.

If you receive a text message or an email with references to “Your MyChart Medicare Kit Awaits!” or “free senior wellness package”, please take the following precautions:

• Do not click any links, including any “unsubscribe” links.
• Do not provide personal, financial or health information.
• Do not reply to the text message or email.
• Delete the text message or email immediately.

How to Identify a Scam Text Message or Email

• Be cautious of unexpected texts or emails offering Medicare kits, benefits, rewards or account updates.
• Verify the sender’s email address. Official Deaconess MyChart communications will come from donotreply@viewmychart.com. 
• Watch for spelling errors, unusual wording, urgent requests or links directing you to unfamiliar websites.
• Be suspicious of texts or emails requesting personal or financial information or asking you to take immediate action.
