The Need
Cancer touches nearly every family—and the need for care is growing rapidly.
Across the country, cancer diagnoses are on the rise. While an aging population plays a role, an alarming increase among younger adults is also emerging. Locally, Deaconess expects cancer patient volume to grow by more than 50 percent in the coming years.
Today, nearly 4 in 10 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Yet many of the most advanced, lifesaving therapies are not available in our region—and for many patients, traveling long distances for care simply isn’t possible.

The Building
Cinelli Cancer Center
To meet the growing need for advanced cancer care, Deaconess is building a new 180,000+ square-foot state-of-the-art facility designed around patients and families.
This new center brings cancer care, clinical trials, advanced technology and comprehensive support services into one dedicated, patient-centered space. Because the Cinelli Cancer Center is the first and only facility in the region integrating cancer care, research and survivorship into one location, every step of a patient’s cancer journey can happen here – close to home.
