As a patient at The Women’s Hospital, your stay should be as comfortable as possible. Our staff want to ensure a great experience for you and your family. Amenities you and your family may enjoy during your stay include:
As a Patient
To improve the health of our patients, visitors and employees, The Women’s Hospital, along with other area health care and community partners, became smoke-free on November 17, 2005. Smoking is prohibited on The Women’s Hospital grounds.
Massage for Women’s Health provides both inpatient massage opportunities as well as massage therapy sessions by appointment. Our massage therapists are licensed and experienced in both pre and post-natal massage. Fifteen-minute Daddy massages are also available. Massage hours vary based on patient demand. Gift certificates are also available for purchase. Every attempt will be made to honor gift certificates for patients in the hospital. However, appointments are first-come, first-served, so it is possible you may have to redeem a gift certificate after leaving the hospital. Due to the popularity of this service, space is limited, so please call early for the best chance of scheduling an inpatient massage. For current hours of operation and pricing, or to schedule an appointment or purchase a gift certificate, please call 812/449-1722.
24-hour In-House Anesthesia
Our physicians are readily available for pain management in labor and delivery, cesarean sections, surgical anesthesia, and emergency situations.
Special Deliveries Room Service
Order from the menu in your room and have your food delivered at your convenience. Meals are usually served within 30 minutes after order is placed. Guests may also purchase from the room service menu. A round table and chairs are provided so families can eat together if they desire.
As a Maternity Patient
Single-Room Maternity Care
This allows patients/families to remain in one room from delivery to discharge.
Families are welcome to have their newborn “room in” with them rather than going to the nursery in order to promote bonding and learning about newborn behaviors.
The Women’s Hospital has two, full-service nurseries staffed with compassionate Registered Nurses and Patient Care Associates. Newborns may stay in the mother’s room with the family. However, a baby lounge is available 24 hours a day.
Hospitality and Retail Services
For the Support Person
Rooms are furnished with a couch and recliner for the support person to spend the night.
