Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral for your services?
A referral from your health care provider is required for physical, occupational, and speech therapy. A referral is NOT needed for the Torque or Running Analysis programs.

What should I expect at my first visit?
Arrive at your appointment 15 minutes early if your paperwork is complete. Arrive earlier to fill out your paperwork in our office. Please bring your driver’s license or a photo ID, insurance information, and any notes from your doctor. Your initial evaluation will be conducted by a licensed, highly-trained therapist.

How should I dress?
You should wear loose-fitting clothing that allows you to uncover the area we will be examining and treating.

What does a physical therapist do?
Physical therapists are experts at evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunction. We are specifically trained to improve your mobility, strength, function and relieve pain. Physical therapists help a person recover from an injury or surgery and aid in recovery from a disease or illness. High Pointe uses joint and soft tissue mobilization techniques, exercise, heat, ice, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound to treat your condition.

My doctor recommended another place for rehabilitation, but I would like to come to High Pointe. What do I do?
As a patient you have the right to choose a physical therapy clinic that works for you. We recommend that you discuss all of your treatment options openly with your referring physician.
