Here are some of the best essential oils to use in your nursery and/or on your baby’s skin, and ways to use them:
- Lavender is a gentle essential oil that can be used on newborns. It speeds up healing, soothes irritated skin and is a natural anti-depressant for the parents. In addition, it is a nice deodorizer and disinfectant. It can also be used as natural baby wipes to clean your baby’s bottom.
- Lemon can be used as a natural disinfectant and anti-bacterial cleaner. You can use it in a diffuser in the nursery to clean and disinfect the air. You can also use it to safely clean soft stuffed animals and baby items that cannot go in the washing machine. Just add 2-3 drops on to a damp washcloth and wipe surfaces clean. It is also known to lift your spirits, and ease anxiety and depression.
- Rosemary oil helps to protect your baby’s immune system, stimulate circulation, heal skin conditions, and boost moods. It also relaxes babies and improves their sleep.
