Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac Rehab combines exercise and education to help you return to an active and productive lifestyle after your cardiac event.

Cardiac Rehab - The Heart Hospital

Cardiac Rehab - Patients' Perspective

Phase I - In-Patient Cardiac Rehab
While you are in the hospital, this progressive low-level activity helps you overcome the effects of bed rest and reduce anxiety related to hospitalization.

Phase II - Outpatient Cardiac Rehab
This program combines exercise and education to help you return to an active and productive lifestyle after your cardiac event. You are carefully monitored during the program, and activity and education are customized for each patient’s needs. Phase II begins after discharge from the hospital and usually will last 12 weeks. Your physician starts the process with a referral to cardiac rehab.

Heart Buddies is also a part of cardiac rehab. This support group for patients and families helps with education and support in the life changes needed after a major cardiac event.
