Hurst Ratings and Analytics has recognized the nursing staff at The Heart Hospital with The Hurst

Gold Standard of Nursing Award
for achieving excellence in quality nursing, which significantly contributes to the hospital’s overall patient satisfaction rating.
Nurse communication directly impacts outcomes and hospital patient satisfaction ratings. Hurst Ratings and Analytics reviews key quality indicators from HCAHPS surveys specific to hospital nursing services in the categories of nurse communication, staff responsiveness, medication communication, pain management, discharge information, and care transition.
The Hurst Gold Standard of Nursing Award is given to hospital nursing staffs that achieve top tier weighted scores, significantly above the national average on these performance measures.

The Heart Hospital Receives HFAP Re-Accreditation

The heart program is the largest in the region and has received the following recognitions:
- Nationally recognized as a Top 100 heart program
- Achieved the highest Three-Star rankings by United Healthcare
- Designated as a Center of Excellence by Anthem
- Received state and national awards for clinical processes and services—including its rapid treatment of chest pain
- Designated by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as a Chest Pain Emergency Center for its locations at Deaconess Hospital and Deaconess Gateway Hospital
The Heart Hospital is licensed by the Indiana Department of Health as an acute care hospital and is accredited by Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP) for excellence in patient care quality. HFAP is authorized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to survey hospitals for compliance with CMS standards.

The Heart Hospital at Deaconess Gateway was one
of six VHA member hospitals to receive an Excellence Award for
Clinical Effectiveness from VHA Inc., the national healthcare network.
The Excellence Award recognizes achievement of exceptionally high levels of performance in clinical care when compared to national benchmarks.
