Deaconess Clinic LIVE connects you with a health care provider wherever you are. You can receive consultation, diagnosis, and/or treatment by using your smartphone, tablet, or desktop computer. Communicate directly with a Deaconess Clinic provider by secure, live, interactive video conference.
This service is not for emergencies. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or seek emergency care immediately.
When to Use Deaconess Clinic LIVE
- When your primary care physician is not available, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
- If you are considering Deaconess Urgent Care for a non-emergency issue. Instead, you can receive care at home.
- When you are traveling and in need of non-emergency care.

Patients can make a virtual appointment with a Deaconess Clinic provider 365 days a year between 8 AM and 8 PM.
Cost & Payment
The cost is $49 per visit. There is no charge if, during the video conference, the provider determines an in-person visit is needed.
Currently, insurance companies (including Medicare or Medicaid) do not provide coverage for this service. Typically, the fee is a qualified expense for FSA, HSA or HRA accounts.
Who Can Use Deaconess Clinic LIVE
New or current Deaconess patients, age 12 years and older, who are physically located in Indiana or Kentucky, are eligible.
Scheduling an Appointment
Once you begin the process of “Request a Deaconess Clinic LIVE Visit,” you will answer a short series of questions and schedule an appointment time. You will then receive a confirmation email with instructions and a link to the Deaconess Clinic LIVE virtual clinic
. After registration you’ll be prompted to download VSee, the software needed for the video conference.
If you’re a first time user of Deaconess Clinic LIVE, you will need to complete a few additional questions to set up an account and download the video application. Returning users will simply need to log in.
Prescriptions & Follow-Up Care
- A computer, tablet or smart phone with built-in camera and microphone.
- A reliable Internet connection
- An up-to-date browser (Internet Explorer 9 or higher, Chrome, Firefox or Safari)
If the provider determines that a prescription is needed, the order will be sent to your local pharmacy. No controlled substances will be prescribed.
A summary of your visit will be available to you electronically and sent to your primary care physician. If you have a Deaconess PCP, your summary will be available through your MyChart account.
If after your visit you are still not feeling well, you may request a follow-up visit. If you are seen within 48 hours with the same primary concern, you will not be charged for a new visit.
