‘A’ Leapfrog Rating for Deaconess Gateway, Henderson, and Midtown Hospitals

11/21/2022
For a second time, Deaconess Gateway, Henderson & Midtown Hospitals ALL received an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from Leapfrog®!

The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. The Safety Grade is a letter grade assigned to general hospitals across the country and updated every six months. The grade is based on more than 30 national performance measures reflecting medical errors, injuries, accidents and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

For a second time, Deaconess Gateway, Henderson & Midtown Hospitals ALL received an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from Leapfrog®!

Deaconess first achieved “straight As” in Fall 2021, and now our Fall 2022 Safety Grades again reflect the highest level of quality at all three eligible hospitals.

“The commitment by each Deaconess employee to provide safe care—to each patient, every time—has been recognized again by Leapfrog, and should be celebrated,” said Georganne Gairhan, Vice President of Quality.  “These A scores are not easily achieved, and we don’t take them for granted.  They are earned by the diligent attention to details, from hand hygiene compliance, to removing catheters and central lines in a timely way, to preventing patient falls, to communicating well as a team and with our patients.  Your careful work and care for your patients has led to this recognition.”

Additionally, our joint venture facility, Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville, received a second B in a row.

You can learn more about these scores, as well as the scores from other hospitals in our region, at the Hospital Safety Grade website.
