Local organizations received $70K in grants from Deaconess Henderson Hospital Community Program Fund

6/19/2025
The Deaconess Henderson Hospital Advisory Board presented $70,000 in grants through the Deaconess Henderson Hospital (DHH) Community Program Fund Wednesday, June 18 at Deaconess Henderson Hospital, Henderson, Kentucky.

Organizations receiving funding included Audubon Kids Zone, Daniel Pitino Shelter, Father Bradley Shelter for Women & Children, Henderson Christian Community Outreach, Recovery Resource Club of Henderson, St. Anthony’s Hospice and The Gathering Place.

The DHH Community Program Fund is a result of the merger of Methodist Hospital and Deaconess Health System. With the merger, funds were approved to be used to promote the health and well-being of the citizens of Henderson County.

“At Deaconess Henderson Hospital, we believe our mission extends beyond the walls of our facility,” Deaconess Henderson Hospital CAO Linda White said. “These grant recipients are doing vital work to address the health challenges our community faces—whether it’s mental health, substance use, access to care or chronic disease. We’re proud to support these organizations as they work every day to improve the lives of Henderson County families. We thank Ray Nix, a member of our DHH Advisory Board, for his leadership in this grant proposal review.”

Grant monies are going to organizations addressing the four areas identified in the current Henderson County Community Health Needs Assessment. These areas include mental health, substance abuse, obesity/diabetes and health equity/access with a focus on improving the quality of life for Henderson County families as well as promoting wellness, providing access to health screenings and preventing illness.
