Deaconess Welcomes New Administrators

Two new faces have joined the senior administrative team at Deaconess. JoAnn Wood, MD, MSME, MHA, AAP, ACP, became Vice President, Chief Medical Officer in September, 2020.  Jennifer Chiusano, MA, BSN, RN, NE-BC, began serving as Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive in January, 2021.
 
EVANSVILLE  –  Two new faces have joined the senior administrative team at Deaconess. 
JoAnn Wood, MD, MSME, MHA, AAP, ACP, became Vice President, Chief Medical Officer in September, 2020.  Jennifer Chiusano, MA, BSN, RN, NE-BC, began serving as Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive in January, 2021.

Wood_Joann-MD-1.jpgDr. Wood most recently served as CMO at Baptist Memorial Hospital – DeSoto in Southaven, Mississippi. In addition to her medical degrees, she holds a Master of Science in medical education, a Master of Health Administration, and completed the Intermountain Advanced Training Program in Health Care Delivery and Improvement.  Dr. Wood is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Physicians.

Chiusano_Jennifer-CNE-R-250.jpgChiusano brings more than 30 years in nursing administrative experience to her role at Deaconess. She most recently served as the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN. Previously, she also served as the CNO at Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, Florida. Chiusano received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. She’s a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, and is a Certified Nurse Executive with ANCC.

Dr. Wood and Chiusano are both natives of Owensboro, Kentucky, and look forward to becoming involved in and serving the local community and region.
