Heart Hospital Visitors

Visitation guidelines for The Heart Hospital help create a safe, restorative patient centered environment. We welcome visitors and realize that you are a VERY important part to our patient's recovery. Your adherence to our visiting policies will assist us in doing the best job we can to help your loved one heal. We ask that all visitors follow the guidelines below:

  • Open visitation will be from 5 AM to 8 PM. All hospital entrances are open and welcome to family and friends of our patients.
  • During the overnight hours from 8 PM to 5 AM, visitors are allowed in the building but must enter through the Gateway Emergency Department entrance and obtain a badge at the security office.
  • All visitors present afterhours are required to maintain a quiet, restful environment by limiting noise, silencing cellphones, and minimizing movement and noise in the hallways.
  • The use of tobacco products (cigarettes, pipes and pipe tobacco, cigars, chewing tobacco, dip, snuff or any other product containing tobacco, and electronic cigarettes) are forbidden on all Deaconess Health System properties including but not limited to parking lots, garages, sidewalks and buildings. Visitors who do not adhere to this policy will be asked to leave the premises and may have visitation privileges removed.
  • It is our policy to restrict any type of potentially hazardous items from the facility. This includes items including but not limited to: weapons, razors, matches, lighters, illicit drugs and alcohol. Visitors who do not adhere to this policy will be asked to leave the premises and may have visitation privileges removed.
  • We try to not limit the number of patient visitors, but the patient’s condition may require the nurse to limit the number of visitors at any one time.
