Deaconess hospital offers a non-accredited Hospital Medicine Fellowship that accepts a maximum of two fellows per year. Applicants must be eligible for board certification in either family medicine or internal medicine to apply. U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien status required. We do not sponsor J-1 or H-1B visas.
Matt Kolleck, M.D. — Program Director
Dr. Kolleck graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1997. He did his residency in Internal Medicine at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Following completion of his residency, Dr. Kolleck began practicing as a hospitalist at Deaconess. Since that time, he has served in many capacities including Department Chair, President of the Medical Staff, Health System Board Member, and Chair of the Pharmacy, Therapeutics, and Diagnostics Committee. He started as Hospital Medicine Fellowship Director in 2011.
Rotation Information
Rotations are divided evenly among hospital medicine and electives with most fellows opting to take 2 to 3 months of critical care. Many other electives are available including infectious disease, nephrology, neurology, and palliative care.
