What is Nursing Excellence?
 
The Magnet Recognition Program® was was developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association (ANA), to recognize nursing excellence and clinical quality patient outcomes.

The ANCC granted Deaconess Hospital, Inc. status as a Magnet-recognized organization initially designated in 2013 and re-designated in 2018 and 2022. With this designation, Deaconess Cross Pointe, Deaconess Midtown Hospital and Deaconess Gateway Hospital met or exceeded the Magnet Recognition Program™ standards demonstrating transformational leadership at all levels of nursing, structured empowerment supported by a mature nursing shared governance structure, exemplary clinical practice delivering on best practice outcomes, and nursing research and evidence-based practice contributing to new knowledge and innovation.

These three facilities, known as Deaconess Hospital, Inc., demonstrated the ability to meet or exceed these requirements as part of the Magnet® application and appraisal process. Deaconess Hospital, Inc. is Nursing Excellence!
