Toyota gifted Deaconess Foundation a specially modified van and a $50,000 grant for The Women's Hospital Simulation Education Program. Engineers at TMMI modified the 2015 Sienna with a series of ramps and locks that can safely transport Kaitlyn, the simulation manikin, on a gurney in the back.
The Women's Hospital's Simulation Education Program provides training for emergency birth scenarios to regional hospitals, "We know we’re not only preparing the clinicians that are working during emergencies. We’re also preparing the facility to have the right systems in place,” explained Jamey Williams, Clinical Outreach & Simulation Coordinator for The Women's Hospital.
This training is provided at no cost to hospitals thanks to Toyota and other generous donors. Check out a short video about The Women's Hospital's Simulation Education Program here.
