Support for Breast Services

Posted: 3/1/2023

This fiscal year, Deaconess Foundation has been awarded more than $40,000 in grant funding from Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust (IBCAT), National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) and Posey County Community Foundation to support breast services to women in need throughout Southwest Indiana. This funding will provide education, screening mammograms, diagnostics, and necessary follow-up care.

Since the pandemic, Deaconess Foundation has seen a decrease in mammogram and pelvic ultrasound funding sources. Funding continues to be essential to providing the life-saving screenings for uninsured women throughout the tristate.

Early detection leads to treatment and better outcomes. Thanks to the support of IBCAT, NBCF, Posey County Community Foundation and individual Foundation donors, Deaconess Foundation was able to provide financial assistance to more than 500 uninsured women in 2022 for breast and cervical cancer services. With your support we will grow that number in 2023.
