Concerns
She never seems in big hurry to leave, listens to questions, doesn't act like any are crazy and gives good explanations.
Dr Mbakop entered the room announcing I had a disease I didn't know I had, as if that was my identity. She had clearly reviewed my labs but little else in the chart and it took a few interactions before she remembered to introduce herself. She never asked me why I was there and took history primarily by asking closed ended questions while looking at the computer screen. Despite rephrasing my questions multiple times, I left with barely any better understanding of what was going on with my health, which was very disappointing because I consulted a specialist only to get answers beyond what my trusted primary care could provide.
I am upset that while I was there I let the doctor know I felt I was developing a UTI. I suggested I see my PCP but she said she could order the test and take care of it. This was a Friday at noon and by 3:00pm I had test results back which did show UTI. I sent three messages through MY Chart asking the doctor to please check my results before leaving for the weekend. The nurse emailed back and said she would let the doctor know. I did not hear back and when I made a phone call they had just closed for the weekend. This is Monday morning 9:32am and I still have not received a phone call or message regarding my results. I had to pay $60 to go to Urgent Care on Saturday to take another test and get medicine for the UTI. This is unacceptable!!!
Very attentive to all questions and Very patient!
Good
Good experience
She was WONDERFUL. Explained what was going on with me very throughly, how serious she was when she called back next day with my blood results. Explained how important it was I got to hospital ASAP. She had me a room ready for me with doctor's on the ball. My blood levels were so messed up, and bun level was AWFUL. 1/2 OF MY LEFT KIDNEY WAS SHUTTING DOWN.
Cant ask for better care
Good experience very polite.
Dr. Mbakop was thorough during my appointment. She also referred me to another rheumatologist since my previous specialist retired and I never received a replacement.
