Dr. Michelson handled my issue professionally and explained to me what was going on. I felt very informed

I'm sure Dr. Mickelson is a lovely person but as far as help goes, there was not much for me. He told me things I've already been told, like buy better shoes, he didn't order new X-rays or tell me if he was going to be asking for the X-rays I got it St Vincent, he didn't tell me whether we were going to be exploring the pain I'm having in a muscular way by getting a CAT scan or MRI. I had to ask him explicitly if there were some exercises I could do at home for my already diagnosed plantar fasciitis. He didn't seem to take it very seriously that I told him my pain has increased and is increasing significantly. It honestly felt like I was just required to be there for insurance purposes or something. I don't even understand what the visit was for. When suggesting shoes, he said Nike as a brand for instance, and when I probed further and asked him if Nike was the specific brand he would recommend for me he said no and that it was just a brand he kind of threw out there? And to just get us sturdy shoe and said he might even order it off Amazon. I went ahead and did that by the way, and ended up with diabetic house shoes that I'm not exactly stoked on. He didn't tell me any place to go in town that might help me with orthotics, he said that he might might look into an insert to put into my shoes that were like a trial or something? That they might have for free in the office? He did not bring them in. I'm waiting to talk to my primary care physician about what kind of shoe insert to even get. I don't understand how this was supposed to be a more professional, more in-depth visit than the care I'm already getting honestly, because it was one of the most surface level interactions I've ever had with a doctor. I see him again in 3 months and I'm not looking forward to it but at this point continuity of care is more important to me than anything. Again, I think he seems like a very kind person but I don't think that he took me very seriously. Also, when I was talking to his nurse, I brought up the fact that I was concerned about my foot that was reconstructed after a car accident, and she said she wasn't sure how he might feel about that, and it literally never came up again. I understand as the patient I should try my best to keep track of all of the talking points, for sure. But I also think that that burden falls on the doctor as well. It is equally shared. Or should be. This was not a good visit.

NP is very attentive to my concerns and clearly explains treatment if needed.

    05/09/2026

We agreed that the condition has diminished enough to warrant less frequent visits.

    04/26/2026

Doc able and willing to do procedure that first visit instead of having to return. He made return visit an option, if having trouble.

    Great care

    02/26/2026

He took care of my problem and was gone in 5 min or less. No history was taken, no future treatment was discussed. He put patches on me after he removed the callus's and told me to buy some. He said see you again when/if they come back. I didn't think he was coming back so I left.

Doctor seemed irritated with me right away. Tried to give version of why I was there and thought might have nail fungus and it be causing problems I was trying to explain to doctor. Very hot red feet, then sometimes very ice cold feet with light blue nails. I am on crutches 24/7 so sitting is causing some problems. Tried to explain possible lymphedema and swelling etc. But he was very irritated with me , said not toe nail fungus and asked to cut my nails which I really need help with and he got that done, but caused some pain because condition of nails and trying to get them cut so not to grow inward. But again not happy with me saying ouch and there was some bleeding one toe, which I know is expected. Anyway I felt like I was wasting his time. And yes medicare insurance. Anyway I have problems with hot red feet with some swelling and pain .then can go ice cold for awhile with slight blue then back to warm.thats why I went to doctor. Really didnt get any answer for that.
