Volunteering

The Best Volunteers Belong at Deaconess

Deaconess Hospital has been serving patients from all over the Tri-State since 1892.  Since the beginning, volunteers have been an important part of Deaconess.  By giving their time and talents, they make a significant contribution to patients, families and visitors, physicians, staff, and fellow volunteers.

The Deaconess Hospital Auxiliary was formed in 1960. The Auxiliary provides fellowship and leadership to the volunteer program in addition to fundraising.  Joining the Auxiliary and volunteering is a great way to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families and to socialize and make new friends.

Who can Volunteer at Deaconess?

Deaconess offers many volunteer opportunities for those who are willing and have the time to serve.  Adults age 18 and over, as well as students age 14 to 17 (junior volunteers), are welcomed.  Volunteers serve at both the main campus (600 Mary Street, Evansville, Indiana) and Deaconess Gateway Hospital (4011 Gateway Blvd., Newburgh, Indiana).
