We understand that you may have many questions, thoughts -- and perhaps fears -- based on your personal experience. As a working mother who breastfed all three of my children, I have been there and know it helps to have resources, information and, more importantly, support. Those are the very things
The Women’s Hospital lactation blog can provide.
We'll connect you with resources available either online or within your community:
information on breastfeeding
fears and barriers
and various options for you to seek support
You can expect posts from breastfeeding experts right here at The Women’s Hospital and learn what resources our lactation department has to offer. Also be on the lookout for posts from guest bloggers, including doctors in the area and other new moms who are experiencing the same things you are.
In 2010, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Regina Benjamin issued a national call to action for communities, organizations, health care providers and individuals to protect, promote and support breastfeeding. Our team at The Women’s Hospital wants to support all of our moms with their infant nutrition goals. Our lactation department and team of nurses have always actively sought the latest information and research to help moms reach their specific goals -- long before this call to action was made.
Dr. Benjamin made a powerful statement, giving national recognition to breastfeeding, because it's linked to lower infant mortality rates and provides numerous health benefits to both mom and baby.
The Women’s Hospital applauds the U.S. surgeon general for her efforts and shares her vision and passion to support breastfeeding mothers.
We hope those who read this enjoy our posts to come!
