Current Positions

Acute Care Nurse Practitioners/Family Nurse Practitioner – Palliative Care

F-T, 80 hours/pay: Days, Monday-Friday
Deaconess Hospital is currently seeking one provider (ACNP or FNP) to join their staff in the Palliative Care Department. This full-time position will provide Palliative Care services at Deaconess Hospital, Deaconess Gateway Hospital and The Heart Hospital. The Palliative Care team consists of a part-time physician, a part-time nurse practitioner, a full-time nurse (certified in Hospice and Palliative Care), a full-time social worker, and chaplains and pharmacists from various units. Hours are Monday-Friday (8 am – 5 pm), no holidays or weekends and no on-call responsibilities at this time. Master’s degree with advanced training or education as an ACNP or FNP, along with a valid license in the State of Indiana. Acute Care/Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Wound Care

2 positions available: P-T, 40 hours/pay: Days, Monday-Friday (No weekend or holiday coverage)
The Deaconess Wound Care office is currently seeking two (2) part-time (40 hours/pay period) ACNP/FNP or PA’s to join their staff in the Outpatient Wound Services Department. The Mid-level providers will work collaboratively to cover a FULL-TIME schedule. The two (2) hourly, part-time, positions offer a competitive salary and benefits package as well as solid support from Deaconess Administration. Master’s degree with advanced training or education as an ACNP/FNP or PA, along with a valid license in the State of Indiana. Previous Wound Care experience is preferred. Candidates with the following qualifications will be considered for this position:

  • Experienced NP: (Family or Acute Care) - Prefer 1+ year experience.
  • New Graduate NP: (Family or Acute Care) - Must have a minimum of 2 years prior nursing experience.
  • PA-C: Must have a minimum of 1 year experience and current CSR/DEA.

Candidates must agree to obtain specialty Wound Certification (CWS) as soon as clinical experience allows.

Adult Psychiatrist and Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist

Deaconess Cross Pointe, which is part of Deaconess Health System, seeks an Adult/General BC/BE Psychiatrist and a BC/BE Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our experienced team of psychiatrists and advanced practice nurses.
The Adult Psychiatry opportunity is a full-time, employed position that will be responsible for adult inpatient and outpatient services (e.g., evaluations, daily rounding), working with Business Development on community presentations and referral building, and some shared on-call responsibilities. The Child/Adolescent Psychiatry opportunity is a full-time, employed position that will provide child & adolescent inpatient and outpatient services (e.g. evaluations, daily rounding, consults, medication management), working with Business Development on community presentations and referral building, and some shared on-call responsibilities. Assistant Medical Director/Family Medicine Residency Program

The Deaconess Family Medicine Residency Program (total of 18 Residents) is seeking a BC FM physician to join their existing four faculty members. Potential candidates should possess strong teaching/leadership skills to work with our Residents. Two years of recent clinical experience preferred. No competing residencies in the area. Responsible for staffing the Residents at the Residency and Family Medicine Center, assuring appropriate and safe patient care along with additional duties. No Call required. Assistant Medical Director/Women's Health Coordinator

The Deaconess Family Medicine Residency Program (total of 18 Residents) is seeking a BC/BE physician (w/ OB) to join their existing four faculty members.  Potential candidates should possess strong teaching skills and will see patients three half-days/week in a nearby office, in addition to teaching in the residency.  Maternity care teaching is a priority.  No competing residencies in the area.  Responsible for curriculum development and recruiting.  Three years of clinical practice experience is preferred.  Fully integrated EMR system.  This employed position enjoys competitive compensation, incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package.

CRNAs

Deaconess Hospital is currently seeking a full-time CRNA to join their team. The ideal candidate will provider coverage under the direction of a physician to patients in the Endoscopy labs at Deaconess Hospital (main campus) and Deaconess Gateway Hospital. 1-3 years of experience is preferred. Dermatologist    
 
Deaconess Clinic, which consists of 100+ primary and specialty care physicians in over 20 convenient locations, is seeking a BC/BE Dermatologist to join its growing team! Office hours are typically Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Optional call for hospital consults. DSS Advanced Practice Nurse – Deaconess Cross Pointe

Delivers full range of independent, specialized psychiatric/mental health services as a Clinical Nurse specialist or Nurse Practitioner within the score of Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) as defined by Indiana Administrative Code 848 Article 4.  Complies with state and federal confidentiality, medical record access and drug administration laws governing prescriptive authority for APN.  Functions within a Collaborative Practice Agreement with physician licensed to practice medicine in the State of Indiana.  The APN works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary setting, while retaining professional accountability for any delegated interventions while performing care within Deaconess Cross Pointe’s inpatient settings.
Education and Experience: Master’s in Nursing – Psychiatric/Mental Health. Collaborative Practice Agreement with prescriptive authority filed with State of Indiana.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current RN license in State of Indiana. Psychiatric Nursing ANCC Accreditation preferred.

Endocrinologist
Deaconess Clinic, which consists of 100+ primary and specialty care physicians in over 20 convenient locations, is seeking a BC/BE Endocrinologist.  The ideal candidate will join the Deaconess Clinic-Downtown location, joining three other clinic physicians.  This is a 100% Endocrinology practice with some inpatient work (consults), as well as outpatient follow-ups & consults.  M-F and 1:4 call (with minimal night call).  As an employee of Deaconess Clinic, you will experience a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Hospitalists

Deaconess Hospital is currently seeking three Internists to join its successful group of twenty-five (25) employed Hospitalists. Responsible for 180 shifts/year (approximately 15/month). Hospitalist Fellows

Deaconess Hospital offers a one-year fellowship in hospitalist medicine.  Ideal candidates are family physicians who wish to further their knowledge of inpatient medicine and procedural skills needed to care for acutely ill inpatients, and internists who have been away from inpatient medicine and wish to refresh their knowledge and skills.  Deaconess incorporates didactic lectures with supervised patient care consistent with the guidelines recommended by the Society of Hospital Medicine.  As a tertiary regional referral center serving nearly 900,000 people in three states, Deaconess offers a diverse exposure to pathology and severity of illness.  Primary teaching and supervision is provided by the Deaconess Care Group, Deaconess’ 22 physician hospitalist group which covers our two state-of-the-art acute care hospitals and specialty heart hospital 24/7/365.  Our open ICU model offers ample experience in critical care and the hospitalist service offers a nice balance of primary admitting and consultative roles.  Administratively, the fellowship is associated with our family medicine residency which supports 18 residents in our three-year training program.  Resident and medical student supervision and teaching is incorporated into fellowship responsibilities to maximize the learning environment of our teaching hospital.  One-on-one rotations with highly skilled and engaged specialists like pulmonary/critical care, nephrology, cardiology, infectious disease and others is a major strength of our fellowship program.  Employment opportunities exist with our hospitalist group for successful candidates and compensation is competitive with other PGY 4 fellowships.

Internist

The ideal candidate will join the Deaconess Clinic-Gateway location, joining two other Clinic Internists. This is a traditional outpatient practice with some inpatient work. Nurse Practitioner – Deaconess Urgent Care Centers

F-T, 80 hours/pay (12 & 10-hr. shifts)
Deaconess Urgent Care (DUC) is currently seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner. The ideal candidate will provide primary health care services at two walk-in facilities in Evansville. Total annual visits: 38,000. Typical schedule is working 10 or 12-hour shifts on weekdays and every other weekend. Candidates should be licensed in the State of Indiana and certified by the ANCC.

Nurse Practitioner – Pain Management (Gateway)

P-T, 32 hours/pay; Days, Thursday & Friday
The Deaconess Comprehensive Pain Center Gateway office is currently seeking a part-time (32 hours/pay period) NP to provide health care services under the direction of a physician to patients in the ambulatory setting. These services include health promotion and disease prevention, as well as the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. The Nurse Practitioner performs physical assessments, develops care plans, educates and offers support to physician for ambulatory and/or hospitalized patients and family members. Candidates will need to be licensed in the State of Indiana and certified by the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center). Previous pain management experience preferred. A minimum of one year experience as a Nurse Practitioner in private physician office, clinic setting or community outreach program is required.

Palliative Care Medical Director

Deaconess is seeking a Medical Director who will be responsible for the medical direction of the Palliative Care Services for Deaconess Health System, directly prescribing care when appropriate and in collaboration with the patients' attending physicians. The Medical Director will also be involved with staff education, quality improvement, reviewing P&P's, program evaluation and patient care planning as needed. Fellowship-trained or certification in Palliative Care preferred, but not required. Will consider BC/BE Family Medicine or Internal Medicine trained physicians with interest or experience in Palliative Care, plus two years of experience. No call required. As a full-time, employed physician, you will receive a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Psychologist  

Deaconess Clinic, which consists of 100+ primary and specialty care physicians in over 20 convenient locations, is seeking 2 full-time Psychologist specializing in behavioral intervention strategies with children and adolescents who will be part of a Behavioral Health team comprised of seven providers. The primary responsibility of these positions will be to deliver outpatient diagnostic and treatment services to children and adolescents served by Deaconess Clinic. Requirements: licensed (or license eligible) in the State of Indiana with HSPP certification. Experience in empirically supported treatments strongly preferred. Productivity based compensation formula with an initial 12 month salary guarantee. Pulmonary/Critical Care

Deaconess Hospital is seeking three (3) physicians who are BC/BE in pulmonary disease and critical care to join their existing group of 5 employed physicians, 4 nurse practitioners and 1 physician assistant. The ideal candidate will see inpatients at Deaconess Hospital, Deaconess Gateway Hospital and The Heart Hospital. The outpatient office is across the street from the main hospital campus. Sleep Medicine would be optional. Rotating schedule including the ICU, Floors and outpatient clinic. Shared call amongst the group.
