Growing Awareness for Men's Cancers
Deaconess is encouraging its employees and all tri-state men to put down their razors to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancers as part of “No-Shave November.”
Simply stop shaving for the entire month of November! Whether it’s your beard, mustache or scalp….if you normally shave it off, then let it grow!
On November 1, submit a photo of yourself clean-shaven to our Instagram account by tagging #deaconesshealth. Or if you prefer, you can simply email your photo to email@example.com, and we will post your photo to the gallery page.
If you wish, you may also hold an "in honor of" or "in memory of" sign in your photo. Download a template.
Please submit your photos as the month (and beard) progresses. There will be a contest at the end of the month with prizes – and notoriety!
Stop by the information desks at Deaconess Hospital, Deaconess Gateway Hospital or Deaconess Clinic Downtown to pick up your "I'm Growing Awareness" button to wear to help explain your changing appearance.
Send in your last photo by midnight, Sunday, November 24. On November 25 at 11:00am in the Deaconess Auditorium, there will be a closing reception, and prizes for various categories.
The Deaconess Foundation Cancer Care Fund will be the designated beneficiary of any funds raised by this campaign. You may make a donation in honor or memory of a loved one. Please note that a donation
is not required to participate.
Thank you for helping us grow awareness by growing your beard!
