About CONCERN Services

Confidential Counseling Services

All meetings with our professionally trained counselors are strictly confidential.   Counselors are available when you need them at a location near you.  Evening and daytime appointments are available, for your convenience.

If you are dealing with a crisis situation, help is just a phone call away. An experienced, master's level counselor is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Call 812/471-4611 or 800/874-7104.

Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD)

When a stressful incident affects multiple people at a company, CONCERN is available.  We work with individuals and groups of people at work-sites to address emotions and coping strategies after a serious incident, such as the unexpected death of a co-worker or a robbery. For assistance, call 812/471-4611 or 800/874-7104.

Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) Services

Our certified Substance Abuse Professionals work in the interest of public safety by performing DOT mandated Return to Duty functions.  For service details, call 812/471-4611 or 800/874-7104.

Training Programs and Seminars

CONCERN professionals offer a wide variety of trainings, including:
  • Center for Employee Development (CED) - quarterly trainings at Deaconess Cross Pointe
  • Work-Life Trainings - offered on-site
  • DOT Supervisory Training - related to controlled substance and alcohol abuse; provided on-site or semi-annually at Deaconess Cross Pointe
CONCERN: EAP offers up to three on-site trainings per year for client companies.  Clients may select from the Center for Employee Development and Work-Life Training offerings.  DOT supervisory training and CED training is not included in the three per year limit.

Supervisor Consultation

Confidential telephone consultation is available to supervisors facing difficult employee issues.  Consultation may relate to performance, disciplinary action, substance abuse or sexual harassment, among other issues.

Employee and Supervisor Orientations

Upon implementation of the CONCERN program, we offer orientations to familiarize employees with our services.  We address reasons to use our services, how to access services, where we are located, and most importantly, confidentiality.  Furthermore, we explain that because the employer is providing this benefit to employees and members of their household, the service is available at no cost to employees.
