Does Your Child Have Asthma?
Asthma is a disorder caused by inflammation in the airways that lead to the lungs. This inflammation causes your child’s airways to tighten and narrow, which blocks air from flowing freely into the lungs, making it hard to breathe. Symptoms include wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness, and cough. As might be expected, asthma also accounts for more school absences than any other chronic illness.
If your child is suffering with the symptoms of asthma, they may qualify for a national clinical research study conducted by the Allergy Department at Deaconess Clinic. Participation includes study-related physical evaluation and investigational study medication at no cost; and compensation for participation. Children must be between the ages of 4-11 to qualify.
Health insurance is not required for participation
