Visitation Restrictions in Place

In response to the increase in influenza cases nationwide and in the Evansville area, Deaconess has implemented the following visitation restrictions:
  • No visitors with influenza-like symptoms. These include cough, sore throat, fever, chills, aches, runny or stuffy nose, vomiting or diarrhea.
  • No visitors under the age of 15.
  • No visitors other than immediate family, partner or significant other (immediate family is defined as parents or legal guardians, step-parents, siblings over the age of 15, husband or wife).
  • All visitors should use the provided hand sanitizer when entering the building and must wash hands with soap and water or use the provided hand sanitizer when entering or leaving a patient's room.
These restrictions were developed using recommendations from the Vanderburgh County Health Department and are intended to limit the spread of the flu virus among our patients, visitors, staff, and community. Exceptions may be made for cases involving critically ill patients and end-of-life situations.

Hand sanitizer, masks, and tissues are available for visitors at all hospital entrances. Thank you for your diligence in taking additional precautions to limit the spread of influenza.
