Our Professionals Are Certified by Prevent Blindness America

Deaconess LifeQuest's professional staff members are certified by Prevent Blindness America to conduct adult basic vision screening procedures. The following screening tests are available:

Visual Acuity Testing

This screening test measures the eye's ability to perceive the shape of objects in the direct line of vision and to distinguish detail.

Distance visual acuity is assessed using the Snellen Distance Acuity Wall Chart.
Near visual acuity is assessed using the Rosenbaum Procedure's hand-held chart.

Visual Field Testing
The Humphrey Systems Frequency Doubling Technology (FDT) is an automated visual field tester. The device is designed to detect visual field loss that may be caused by glaucoma.
