Cardiovascular Short Stay is a 16-bed unit with 8 beds dedicated to procedure preparation and recovery and 8 beds allotted for overnight, but less than 24-hour, patient observation. The Short Stay unit allows efficient pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure care. We serve patients requiring a variety of outpatient cardiovascular procedures, including elective cardiac catheterization, balloon angioplasty (PTCA) and ablations. We offer:

Pre-registration
For patient convenience, we call the evening prior to procedures to collect registration information. By doing this in advance, patients can bypass the in-house registration process and proceed directly to Cardiovascular Short Stay.

Patient education
Our medical professionals conduct patient education prior to procedures. We prefer to capture the most teachable moments before procedures rather than afterward when patients often feel groggy from medication and are simply ready to go home. Of course, we are happy to answer questions at any time.

Skilled medical professionals
All registered nurses and patient care technicians are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). All are also trained regarding dysrhythmia.
