Am I in Labor?
After months of waiting, your baby's birthday will finally arrive. But how will you know when you're truly in labor? Often, it's difficult to know for sure. Even experienced mothers may be unsure, especially if labor presents different symptoms than they experienced with other pregnancies.
For your convenience, The Women's Hospital provides an Observation area staffed with nurses who can assess you, communicate with your physician, and determine if you should be admitted to the hospital for delivery. By using this service, you can prevent unnecessary hospital admissions due to false labor.
Observation staff is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so we will be ready when your baby is ready. Enter the Observation area by entering the door labeled "Ambulance Entrance," just north of the main hospital entrance.
