For Patients and Visitors
at the Women’s Hospital
We’re looking forward to providing excellent care for you. From pre-registration through discharge, we strive to provide the highest quality, personalized care possible. We want to provide you and your visitors information that will make your stay with us as pleasant as possible. While you’re in the hospital, please feel comfortable asking the nursing and physician staff any questions you have about caring for yourself and your new baby.
Our online Patient Guide will help you and your family through your stay. Should you have additional questions, we welcome you to call us at 812/842-4200.
The Women’s Hospital's philosophy of care is based on the family-centered concept. Father/primary support person may visit any time or stay overnight. Siblings are welcome to visit if an adult caretaker, other than their mother, is with them at all times. Visiting hours for those other than father/primary support person and siblings are from 8 am to 8 pm. Exceptions can be made at the discretion of a physician or nurse.
Parents of babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit may visit or call anytime, 24 hours a day. For your safety, only your primary support person and two to three other people are allowed in the room at the time of delivery. Others may come in immediately following delivery when supplies and equipment are removed.
All visitors should be free of infection and not recently exposed to infectious diseases (such as flu or chickenpox) for the safety of all mothers and babies.
