As women, we are linked by a common threat - breast and gynecological cancer. Despite medical progress, these cancers remain leading killers among women. The best approach to beating these diseases is early detection. Yet, thousands of area women are unable to receive the detection they desperately need. They need your help— help you can provide by simply playing golf.
The Deaconess Classic for Women's Health is a volunteer-led women's golf tournament committed to increasing awareness of women's health and the importance of early detection and raise funds for the health care of women in need. This year's event will be held on Monday, May 9th at the Evansville Country Club.

LPGA Guest Pros
Since our first Deaconess Classic for Women’s Health in 1995, we have been fortunate to have the support of many LPGA players. This year we are especially excited to welcome Danah Ford Bordner, Indiana native and IU alumn, to our 22nd Deaconess Classic.
About Danah Ford Bordner
Join LPGA member Danah Ford Bordner and area golfers at the Evansville Country Club for the twenty-second annual Deaconess Classic for Women’s Health. The proceeds from this all-women scramble will support education, research and prevention of women’s cancer.
Past Deaconess Classics – all sell outs – have raised over $2,000,000 and provided funds for new medical equipment, physician symposiums, research trials and thousands of health screenings in the Tri-State area.
This year’s golf pro, Danah Ford Bordner, attended Indiana University where she recorded two collegiate wins, including the Big Ten Championship (2004). She was also named the IU Female Athlete of the Year (2004). Danah was also the two-time winner of the Indiana Player of the Year Award (2001, 2004) and the PGA Indiana Women’s Open (2004, 2007).
Danah went pro in 2005. In 2010, she tied for fourth at the LPGA Qualifying Tournament. In 2013, she had a career best T19 finish at the Marathon Classic. She also ranked fourth on Tour in putting average.
When she isn’t golfing, Danah enjoys spending time with her husband and children, watching movies, reading, playing tennis, working out, and cooking.
While you're supporting women's health care in the community, don't forget to schedule your own mammogram!
