Gestational Diabetes Program
The nurse and dietitian of the Deaconess Diabetes Center promote the health of women with gestational diabetes and their babies. Through individualized care plans, we help patients maintain blood glucose control and reduce the risk for developing type 2 diabetes after the delivery of a baby.

Our Gestational Diabetes Program includes:

  • Nutritional counseling
  • Exercise counseling
  • Instruction on home blood glucose monitoring
  • Insulin instruction, if necessary
  • 6-week postpartum visit for type 2 diabetes prevention guidelines
