Deaconess Riley Inpatient Services and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

The new Deaconess Gateway Hospital includes a 12-bed pediatric unit and a 4-bed pediatric intensive care unit. Riley representatives played an important role in the design of both units.

Telemedicine Services

The telemedicine program, available in the Tri-State exclusively at Deaconess, allows Riley specialists to safely and effectively diagnose and treat patients remotely via a specially designed monitoring station. Telemedicine units are capable of videoconferencing, electronic transmission of scope sounds and images, and storing and forwarding clinical files, such as electroencephalograms (EEGs). These units are able to support specialists in cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, neurology, orthopedics/sports medicine, otolaryngology, psychiatry, psychology, pulmonology, rheumatology, teleradiology and urology.

A specially trained nurse is present during each live and interactive consultation to assist in the exam. Local providers are invited to participate in telemedicine sessions.
